Who Implements?
 

The project is implemented over a period of five years. The proposed credit is channelled to the North-East Provincial council (NEPC) through the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government (MPCLG).

The Majority of the project area falls within the North-East Provincial Council and therefore, the NEPC is responsible for the overall project implementation arrangement. The Project is implemented and managed by the Chief Secretary (CS) of the (NEPC).

To assist the CS in the implementation and the management, a Project Management Unit (PMU) is established at Trincomalee and headed by a Project Director. The Project Director and the key managerial staff of the PMU report to the CS.

To ensure the over all project implementation in the context of ongoing resettlement and reconstruction programs in the districts, the implementation in each district is anchored with the respective Government Agents. To assist the Project Director and the Government Agents in the districts a District Project Office (DPOs) are established in each district.
