This component finances feasibility studies for rehabilitation of the ten most dilapidated major irrigation schemes in the North-East province, and in the border villages of the four neighbouring districts. These ten schemes are; Nalalaru scheme (Ampara); Unnichchai and Rugam schemes (Batticaloa); Allai schemes (Trincomalee); Pavatkulam scheme (Vavunia); Giants tank scheme (Mannar); Thannimurippu scheme (Mullaitive); Iranamadu scheme (Killinochchi); Pathaviya scheme (Anuradhapura) and Muthukandiya scheme (Monaragala). Local consultants would be hired for the studies.
